Life - Fragile / Enjoy it

Posted on Friday 16 March 2007

I found out today that a good friend of mine has to have heart surgery to repair a few valves next week.  Life is fragile - go enjoy it while you are alive.  Stop worrying about little things - you could be dead tomorrow.  Last year a friend of mine had heart issues and had to have open heart surgery - if they had not caught it - he would have been dead.

I have a fear that I will be hit by a car and killed because I am crossing the street behind a big city bus that blocks my vision.  I take extra precautions when crossing the street so this vision does not spell my demise.  Life is short - enjoy it and go after it.  Another friend of mine has a child who needs to have surgery soon, I am sure she will be fine - but boy is life fragile.

Next week my wife and I will spend some time out in Idaho and Montana / Yellowstone National Park and we will enjoy life.  We don’t know how many minutes / hours / days / months / years we have left.  Do not hear me as being a defeatist - oh no, this is about seizing today and grabbing it by the horns.
