Travel Updates

Posted on Wednesday 31 January 2007

I am back to traveling quite a bit lately - I just returned from a meeting in San Diego, California and was able to spend some time with some friends over dinner.  That was a nice bonus to my business trip.  This weekend I am headed to Orlando, Florida to work with a mentoring group for the day.

Business travel  is not nearly as exciting for me as it was  when I first started doing it.  I view it more as commuting now  as much as anything else.  There is nothing wrong with commuting, but air-travel is just a bus in the sky.  In fact, after traveling in a nice bus during volleyball season, I would take a nice bus over coach-class on Northwest airlines any time.

I do appreciate my job, and the opportunities that it opens up for me, don’t get me wrong.  But taking a whole day to fly back from the West Coast really just eats up too much time.  Not much point to this post other than to say after five years of flying over 200,000 miles, planes are planes - just buses in the sky.
