Can Do

Do you have a ‘can do’ attitude? I do sometimes. Sometimes I have a ‘no way’ attitude. This usually happens when I come up against something that is new or where I do not have great competency in the area. I know this about myself and it is something I am working onUsually if I take a deep breath, relax and think through all the options, I will figure it out and be less stressed about it. It all goes back to being able to manage your anxiety about a topic or subject or situation. I think managing anxiety is a skill that we must learn in order to have success in life.

Easier said than done? Maybe. Can be done? Yes. The next time a problem comes up and you are asked to solve it - will it not be much better if you have a clear head to be able to solve the problem? I bet it will.

I totally agree, with the lack of competence thing. I put of changing my leaky kitchen sink faucet for months, because i knew it just wasn’t a ’strength’…. But I put my head and my hands to it, and it really wasn’t so bad. Now I feel like a handy-man god.

    Lon -

I felt the same way when I changed a light bulb on my car. I would not want to do it everyday, but it was nice to feel like I could do something mechanical for once.
