Leadership, go ahead and lead. Do it. Watch what happens. How do you know when you are leading? When people start telling you what you should also be doing. So, you want to lead? Pick your fights the right way. As my boss always says, “What hills are you willing to die on or bleed on?” The older I get, the less hills I am willing to die on.
Do you ever sense something needs to change, you know what it might take to change it, and then you have a choice. Do you step up and start leading? Or do you duck and take cover? I find myself in these situations a lot. Recently I finally stepped up and started to offer a solution on something, and I am waiting for the bullets to fly my way. I am being a bit dramatic, but know that when you take something on be ready to take it all the way to completion. Even if it means being on a task force!
