Today is the last day of practice for my St. Kate’s volleyball team. The Wildcats have one last game tomorrow and then the season is done. The season has gone by so fast. We are going to end up with 8 or 9 wins, way up from last year’s three wins. This also signals the very busy season of recruiting seniors in high school to come play for us at St. Kate’s next year.
Recruiting is everything in sports. If you do not have the talent, you can only do so much as a coach. Each year that I have been at St. Kate’s we have added a few talented players, next year could be the year we reach a tipping point and get into double digit wins, and maybe get to .500 winning percentage, or higher. We shall see.
I am a bit sad today as it will be our last practice until Spring workouts.
