We had a tough match last night against Macalester College. We did not really show up until it was too late, and Macalester was just too good.

‘Cats volleyball falls to Scots
September 22, 2006 - The College of St. Catherine volleyball team fell to the Scots from Macalester on Friday night. The Scots played well throughout on their way to a a 3-0 victory.
Game 1 was tightly contested, with the Scots coming out on top by a score of 30-26. The Scots picked up right where they left off in game 2 on won by the score of 30-23. Game 3 saw the Scots jump out to an early lead and not look back on their way to a 30-25 victory and a 3-0 match victory. The Scots displayed a balanced attack getting 17 kills from Sonia Muzikarova, 12 from Andrea Hansen and 10 from Lauren Eberhart.
The Wildcats were lead by Lana Brand’s (FY, Faribault, Minn. / Bethlehem Academy) eight kills. Nicole Haase (Sr., Bertha, Minn. / Bertha-Hewitt) and Maria Hoffman (FY, Montgomery, Minn. / Montgomery-Lonsdale) each chipped in with six kills. The Wildcats were held to .146 hitting percentage for the match.
“We played a talented team tonight, we did some good things that we can build on,” stated Wildcat head coach Nicole Hess. “We need to learn from every match, we don’t have time to dwell on this, we need to be mentally ready to play again tomorrow afternoon,” added Hess.

Any theories on another American underperformance?
Yes, too many rookies. Stars who don’t understand the team concept. Mickelson checked out of golf about two months ago. The Europeans are straight up better. JVD
