Color me impressed. I just got done with a couple day conference at the Gallup Organization for Educators who are seeking to create strengths-based schools. Gallup practices what they preach in every way. Every employee has their strengths displayed on their desk. You immediately know who you are dealing with.
The CEO, Jim Clifton, has his office near the front entrance. How many CEO’s do that? What a great statement about how the CEO is available. I walked by his office and asked someone, whose office is that? They said, the CEO - crazy. Most CEO’s are hidden away - not this one. Kudos to Clifton for practicing what he preaches.
The Gallup staff was fabulous. They have people in the right fit, from the secretaries to the CEO. You can just feel it. If I ever lead an organization at the top level, that organization is going to be strengths based. It works - I am so energized coming off this gathering of strengths enthusiasts, and some unique opportunities that may be coming up as a result of a few meetings I have had.
What a great way to start a weekend, now if I can just get on this flight to Minneapolis and get out of Omaha! : ) JVD

sounds like a great experiece jvd - i am sure you added lots of value to the gathering as well. i want to push deeper into this. as someone who spends a lot of time and energy teaching, there are some great connections here with SF.
safe journey home.
I should have come to this conference. I’m kicking myself. Excited to hear more about it.

Yah it was great - I feel as if we have only touched the surface with this material. We have a long way to go. I bet if you did SF with one group of new church members, and had a control group who did not take it - your retention rates for those who took SF would be 10 - 15% higher. Just a thought - JVD
How did you hear about it? I just experienced Gallup for the first time at the ORIGINS conference in LA . I thought it was excellent and would love to start doing it in my church. How did you go about getting on this course? And what more is involved in actually being able to ‘teach’ it?
Thnx,
