Origins Recap

Origins Mosaic

So, flew back yesterday from Los Angeles and the Origins conference at Mosaic.  My recap will be a slightly different look at Origins as I did not attend any sessions.  Now, you say, how did you go to Origins and not attend any sessions?  Well, I was working!  Recruiting / Connecting etc with folks during all the sessions and breaks.  For me Origins is about the people it attracts as much as any presentation or breakout session. I also have had the luxury of going to four Origins in the past.

I met with many folks during the conference to chat with about Bethel, StrengthsFinder, life, leadership, voxtropolis, church - I could have stayed another week - but it was great to get back home to my wife and my home.  10 days this month in California was great, but it is tiring to be traveling that much.  The ethos of the folks at Origins

was somthing you can feel.  People who want to serve and unleash God’s kingdom on the world.  Do I agree with every way they are going to do it?  No, but that is not the point - their hearts were in the right place.  It takes many kinds of folks to do this work, and many kinds were there.  You can feel the heartbeat at the conference.  It is missional, it is multi-generational, it is multi-ethnic it is fantastic.

That is about all I have to say for now, sorry to leave Origins, but happy to be home.  JVD
