Got to Las Vegas yesterday for my professional conference and was reminded of what I experienced the last time I was here - it is overwhelming. To start off with, it is some of the best people watching in the world. There are people here from everywhere, and there are tons of them. Danielle and I are staying at the Flamingo Hilton and it is a decent hotel.
We had a nice buffet dinner at the Paris hotel - they had every type of cooking station - from crab legs to veal, to crepes, whatever you wanted. It was really yummy food. We also went on the roller coaster at the New York New York casino - that was crazy. The first drop is 7 or 8 seconds? And you feel like you are floating.
One thing here that is a bit of a change from smoke free Minneapolis is that people can smoke anywhere, and they do - a lot. So, my lungs feel like I have been smoking even though I am just walking through the hotels. I appreciate smoke free living a lot more than I do smoke filled rooms.
Today starts the conference I am presenting at - I am curious to see how many people show up for the whole conference, and my breakout session on Recruiting & StrengthsFinder. More on that later today. JVD
