Well this week is a coast to coast week for me - DC this past weekend and San Diego this Wednesday. This is one of the benefits of living in Minnesota. You can get to the east coast in 2 hours and 3 hours to the west coast. As I travel all around the country it pays to be in the middle.
San Diego is one of my favorite travel spots. I have a number of good friends and colleagues who live there, and the climate is hard to beat. La Jolla is especially great, they have some tremendous places to eat. I also like running in the harbor around downtown San Diego - and getting some ice cream at the Hotel Del Coronado. Probably not enough free time for any of that, but maybe a good run or two while I am there.
Maybe the 10 inches of snow here will melt by the time I get back on Saturday here to Minnesota. We shall see. JVD

Not sure if that snow is enough to outweigh being in the middle of the country!
One thing I like about being in Sac is being able to drive to the snow in Tahoe if I CHOOSE (or the ocean) but not to have to live in it!
Sorry to have missed you in Sacramento, I hope the training went well. I was in Palm Springs and missed the sun there, mostly rainy and cloudy. But San Diego; SD is just one step closer to heaven I think!
so do you keep you clock set to MN time for do you make the adjustment from East Coast to West Coast? does JVD really know what time it is (does JVD really care?). looking forward to gathering in LA for ORIGINS and meeting you.
I’m heading to San Diego in a few weeks, so I’m going to take your recommendations for where the hot spots are my friend, never been there myself.
Yah Eric you are right about Sac and Lake Tahoe. My sister and bro n law are in Marin County and drive to Tahoe regularly.
Terry - I have a great $25 watch from Timex, an ironman version that has two times on it, so when I am really organized (mostly never) I have both times set.
MB - Call me before you leave I am happy to give you some thoughts.
